so i'm thinking of shutting this down. there's no specific reason why i should, but there's no specific reason to the contrary. if any of my dear readers think there's any reason at all to keep it, please. enlighten me. thanks.

thanks anonymous. and sorry to be overly inquisitive, but what exactly do you like about it. also, what would you like to read in the future if the posts were to continue. apologies again, but i'm in a strange place these days with many things and would like some help.

I hope it will suffice to say that I find reading it uplifting, so thank you for that:) I enjoy the randomness of your posts and the novelty of it all, so I'd prefer to not ruin that by making requests.
So what strange place do you find yourself in? If you'd like the objective ear of a relative stranger, I'm happy to listen and hopefully help.

sonia--
i won't advocate one position or the other, because there are a million reasons why you may want to shut it down. ("shut this down" sounds so cold. could you call it something else, please? "sending your blog into the sweet hereafter"? something like that.)

i'll be honest...some time ago i recall reading some of your posts from, i don't know, 2006? and it's interesting to read where you've been at certain phases in your life. maybe you'd get a kick out of continuing to monitor your own fluxes in temperament as you get older and mature. (would you some day regret...mudering your 'power of the pen' blog? and think to yourself, 'you know, i should have kept it.')

on the other hand, i've read stuff that i've written years ago, and i usually grimace. and throw them away. (hehh)

i'll tell you what i like about your posts. i like that you keep them pithy for the most part. i like the theme of poetry and beauty. i love the fact that you're not leaving extensive angst-ridden diaries of your thoughts about your last breakup or what have you. on the other hand, sometimes i do wish i had more of a window into your personal life.

but if it's boring or it's a chore and you're not into it, then maybe it's for the best to move on.

for selfish reasons, if you send your blog into the sweet hereafter, then i'll have no way to look at that mast photo where you have your pigtails and you're blowing into the bowl of rose petals. what an angelic picture.

as for future ideas: you have an eye for pretty things...so.. pictures by your own eye? art that you like? youtube clips that you fancy? reviews of cinema that you've seen recently?

also, you should restart that postcard-with-a-poem-by-sonia-on-the-back service. that looked like fun.

you know what's cool? you should write your poems by hand, take a picture of what you've written, and then post the picture on the blog. we don't seen enough of great handwriting anymore.

i think you can keep your posts short and sweet -- if time investment is your concern -- and still keep them interesting.

and once a month you should do your 'ask sonia whatever you like' posts.

because I check every day for a new entry and I think you should actually post MORE. And write me a letter back. And make a date with me.

Also: An idea: letter poems. There is a long history of them in the world and they are much like prose, but in poem form.

I miss you.

NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. If you shut this down, you turn my world upside down. I agree with Caitlin - you need to post MORE. Your posts are original, brilliant, beautiful, smart, enlightening, and uplifting, as are you. Your blog and you have been the inspiration for me to start my blog and write more and feel the freedom to be me and be a writer. In other words...you can't shut it down. Give it a facelift if you want, change your colors or fonts or the name, but keep it, and love it and post MORE!!! The world needs your brilliance and your light.
